Top September Events in Atlanta

Fall is creeping up on us and if you have recently moved to Atlanta, you may have no idea what to do in your new hometown. Luckily, Atlanta’s favorite moving company, All My Sons, has the top September events in Atlanta for you to make new friends, get acquainted with the city, and find your new favorite hot spots.  From festivals to football, these are Atlanta’s top September events that you will not want to miss!

– College football kicks off September 3rd-6th, with Georgia Tech taking on Alcorn State at Bobby Dodd Stadium on the 3rd. Then, you will probably find your Atlanta movers at the Chik-Fil-A Kickoff Game on Saturday, September 5th, at the Georgia Dome.

– Dragon Con takes place every Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, so you can expect the locals to be dressed as Storm Troopers and Marvel characters for this 4-day sci-fi convention. Tickets are $150 and there are expected to be over 60,000 attending the convention from September 4th-7th.

– Midtown Restaurant Week is one of Atlanta’s top September events that has local foodies already salivating. Over 40 restaurants will be participating and menus will all be priced between $25 and $35 for fixed selections.

– ONE MusicFest has been named “the largest musical art festival in the Southeast” and this year’s lineup includes The Roots, Lauryn Hill, ASAP Rocky, Janelle Monae, Ghostface Killa, and Raekwon.

– Atlanta Streets Alive is an event that all locals enjoy because it helps relieve a small portion of the city’s carbon footprint. On Sunday, September 27th, from 2 to 6 p.m., a 4.5 mile loop on Highland, North Avenue, Boulevard, and North Highland Avenue will be closed to all motorized vehicles. Even if you do not attend the biking, walking, and skateboarding block party, you should be aware of the road closures in order to avoid them.
