What better time to give back and show your appreciation to the military than during the holidays? NFL mascot Freddie the Falcon has teamed up with the First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Deal, to make an impact this season. This Holiday for Heroes program was started 10 years ago by the American Red Cross. Atlanta movers from All My Sons Moving & Storage agree this is a great way to not only support the troops, but also to give back a little bit during the season.

The holidays are often a time when those separated from their loved ones feel a bit more down than usual when being away from their families. Our soldiers and military members have consciously given up time with their friends and family to ensure that the rest of us are kept save and are able to celebrate the holidays. The American Red Cross has been ensuring that these service members do not go unnoticed during the holidays.

Follow Freddie the Falcon’s lead and get on board with sending some love to the military and service members of America. Send one card or many to spread thanks, appreciation, and encouragement to service members. You can keep your letters broad, so most receivers can relate. Do not hold back to add a personal story about yourself or your family. Writing to a service member about how they have influenced you or your family goes a long way. An inspirational message or genuine words of thanks will make all the difference to a military member this holiday season.

Showing appreciation to the military is something that every American should get behind. Atlanta movers acknowledge that this is a great way for people of all ages to get involved, give back, and to always remember not to take things for granted.

The ACC is the Atlantic Coast Conference, a collegiate athletic conference held each year in the United States. The ACC consists of 15 universities in the east, whose top competitors go head to head in over 25 different sports. The members of the programs within the ACC are regarded at the top collegiate competitors in the nation.

In recent years, the swimming and diving portion of the Atlantic Coast Conference has been held in Greensboro, North Carolina. The ACC hosts a flood of competitors from different universities as they show off their skills, including diving and relay swimming. Atlanta Movers at All My Sons report that officials with the ACC have recently announced a last minute change of plans. The ACC Swimming and Diving Championship will now take place on different dates at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

This change in events was made in consideration of the controversy amongst lawmakers surrounding the House Bill 2, the bathroom bill, which addresses the issue of individuals using public restrooms that correspond with their identified gender. The law passed in North Carolina requires bathrooms in government facilities to be used by people based on their gender listed on their birth certificate, and prohibits local governments from enacting nondiscrimination laws. North Carolina’s LGBT community believes the legislature of North Carolina is encouraging discrimination.

Due to the controversy in North Carolina, the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center will have the honors of hosting the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships this season.  The Georgia Tech Aquatic Center expects many competitors with many spectators, as this is not their first time hosting a championship.
